Salt Lagoon is an island in the southernmost part of the Bahamas, located in the Gibara region of the West Indies.
The island is surrounded by a sandy beach and consists of ferns, deer, palm trees, shrubs, and small to medium-sized rock formations. One of the palm trees on the island acts as a viewpoint.
History
Sometime in the early eighteenth century, the pirate Edward Kenway visited Salt Lagoon to find a buried treasure chest. He and Adéwalé also met there once with fellow pirates Edward Thatch and James Kidd to discuss the growing pirate republic in Nassau and how to defend it.[1]
