The [[Templar]]-affiliated gang known as the [[Blighters]] believed him to be a spy and interrogated him Luckily, Topping was saved by [[Assassin]] [[Evie Frye]], who only intervened because he had the key to the lab, but declined to free Topping. Thus, Topping used his carnival skills to escape his bonds, vanishing when Evie had her back turned.
Topping later traveled to [[London]], where he became a bookie, organizing fist fights and carriage races. He ran into Evie and her twin brother [[Jacob Frye|Jacob]] and offered them spots in his events.

Biography

In 1868, Topping journeyed to Croydon and was caught snooping around David Brewster's lab.
