Rivière Aurifère

Rivière Aurifère was a forested region located at the heart of the River Valley, New York.

At the time of the mid-18th century, the region was largely uninhabited, barring a few cabins that had been set up near the coast; otherwise, the area was mostly populated by hares and deer.

The presence of a cave painting depicting part of the Legend of the Sky Woman suggested that the Iroquois tribes had at one point lived there. During the Seven Years' War, the Templar Shay Cormac visited the region and renovated a local hunting cabin.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Rivière Aurifère is French for a "gold-bearing river".
