Rathdown

Rathdown was a Gaelic ringfort settlement located in the north of Dublin, Ireland.

In the 870s, Rathdown was once a trading post that dealt mainly in furs and dyed cloth but was later taken over by a group of bandits. In 879, on the request of Azar, Eivor Varinsdottir travelled to Rathdown to eliminate the bandits in the area and recover the deed to the settlement, re-establishing a trade route to Dublin.[1]
