History

Renamed Porta San Pancrazio after Pope Urban VIII remodelled it in the 17th century, the Via Aurelia served as Rome's connection to France during the Republic and Middle Ages and therefore was extremely important for trade.

- In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the north gate of Rome that leads directly into the Piazza del Popolo is mislabeled as the Porta Aurelia as though it is the same gate that would later be called the Porta del Popolo.
