Port Walton was an Anglo-Saxon stronghold, a military base, and a port in 9th century Essexe, England.
History
In 875, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir travelled to the port to rescue the Norse warriors under Rollo, after dealing with an apparent traitor in Rollo's crew. After releasing Rollo's men from their cages, Eivor and Rollo's warriors attacked the stronghold from within and took out all the Saxon soldiers. Afterwards, Rollo came to the port's docks and thanked Eivor for the rescue of his men. Eivor and Rollo soon agreed to aid the Lady of Essexe, Estrid, once again, in escaping from the shire and returning back to Francia, under the guise of a kidnap.[1]
Through her search, Eivor also found a warehouse key in the area, opened a chest, and claimed a nickel ingot.[2]
