The Palm Grove was a vast plantation of palm trees in the southern part of the Wilderness in Baghdad.
History
In the 860s, the Order of the Ancients member Al-Anqa ordered his guards to kill the merchants of local shops in Karkh while they were on the road at the grove, as one merchant knew of his location. However, the merchants were escorted to the city by the Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq, who found them at their small encampment. While escorting them, Basim killed the assailants sent after the merchants, and discovered Al-Anqa's identity as the tax collector Suhail.[1]
