Nali was a cat that lived in East Anglia during the 9th century.
A former sea-cat, Nali had settled in the town of Norwich with Kottr. However, he was devastated by the latter's death, and grew wild, running around the town scaring chickens and children alike, refusing to let anyone touch himself. This changed when he met Viking Eivor Varinsdottir and joined her on her personal longship, the Sea-Chariot.[1]
Behind the scenes
Nali, a cat in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, shares his name with a dwarf in Völuspá, the first and best known poem in the Poetic Edda. The name is possibly derived from the Old Norse word nál, meaning 'needle'.
