Captain Rupiya

Captain Rupiya, previously called Captain Hogbeard, was a pirate captain who raided in the Strait of Malacca in the 18th century, during which he gained notoriety as the Terror of Malacca.

Rupiya was previously hired by Master Sun of the Hualien Trading Company in Macau to sabotage and attack the merchant ships of Sun's rival Madam Lee. After being defeated and captured by the British Assassin Edward Kenway and the Dutch navigator John Young,[1] Rupiya later changed sides and worked with them to escort a trading vessel to Manila within the Captaincy General of the Philippines.[2]
