Matthew Davenport was a British military officer during the American Revolutionary War. He served in his role fiercely, and was extremely loyal to his men, fighting with equal skill to that of his strategizing. However, unbeknownst to him, his daughter, Eleanor Mallow, enrolled into his forces.
In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Commander.
