Biography
Assassin's Creed: Lineage
Maria Auditore is a noblewoman living during the Renaissance (15th century) in Italy. She is the wife of Giovanni Auditore, an Assassin. She seems to be the only one in her family to know it.
Assassin's Creed II
The day after Ezio's scuffle, Maria has him walk with her to pick up some paintings from an artist, who turns out to be none other than Leonardo da Vinci. After the tragedy that befalls on the Auditore family at the beginning of the game, she is protected by Ezio along with her daughter, Claudia. Claudia reports that when the guards came for Giovanni, Maria tried to stop them. She implies that the guards did something traumatic enough to make her go into shock. What they did exactly is not revealed, though rape is a probability, but she refuses to talk to anyone. Despite her seeming breakdown, she is still able to travel at least as far as Mario's estate on foot. Once there, she confines herself to her bedroom and, according to Claudia, can't stop looking at the feathers that Pertruccio used to collect.
After bringing her 50 feathers, Ezio is told by his uncle Mario that his mother is "gone" and he needs to accept that.
After bringing her 100 feathers, Ezio hugs his mother and she finally speaks, thanking Ezio for "not forgetting" her. She then moves from kneeling at the bed and praying, to sitting on a bench and smiling.
