Leader Of The Pack is a memory in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Description
After Ezio has funded the renovation of all the damaged aqueducts, he finds an entrance to a Lair of Romulus located in the Cloaca Maxima.
Upon entering Rome's sewage system, Ezio soon discovers three Borgia leaders disguised as Followers of Romulus. The men are crouched together, discussing their plans and mocking the blind faith that helps them to control the true Followers of Romulus. Ezio then decides to make his presence known, provoking the men to make an escape attempt and to mobilize their own group of followers. He chases one of the men through a sewage tunnel, eventually falling victim to an ambush.
Defeating the group of attackers, Ezio gives chase after the leader once more cornering him in a dwelling. The Borgia leader expects aid from his captain, but is betrayed and left for dead as his captain flees. Ezio defeats another group of followers in the dwelling before chasing the Borgia Captain.
He locates the leader in a room at the end of a tunnel. The man orders his group of followers to kill Ezio. Failing in their attempts, the frustrated captain attacks Ezio himself but is killed in the process. With the captain dead, Ezio gains access to the shrine. Opening the chest inside, Ezio acquires a Scroll of Romulus and one of the six keys. After claiming the treasures, he vacates the Cloaca and returns to Rome.
Dialogue
Upon arriving in the Cloaca, Ezio eavesdrops on a conversation between three Borgia leaders.
- Leader 1: We have recruited many new men to our cause.
- Leader 2: I merely speak the name "Romulus" and they obey.
- Captain: Bene. (Good.) Our prophecies move them, as predicted. Together, we will create a new religious harmony.
Ezio steps out from behind his hiding spot and makes his presence known.
- Captain: Assassino! (Assassin!) Mobilize your followers!
The leader Ezio has been chasing orders his followers to kill the Assassin.
- Leader 2: We must kill the Assassin! Romulus demands it!
During the attack.
- Leader 2: Show him the strength of our faith!
- Leader 2: Spill his blood!
Arriving at the dwellings, the leader Ezio is chasing demands help from his captain.
- Leader 2: Wait for me!
The Captain ignores the plea for help, and throws another leader from an elevated structure.
- Captain: Save yourself.
Ezio confronts the Captain in the final room.
- Captain: Your end is at hand, Assassin!
The Captain orders his followers to kill Ezio.
- Captain: Appease Romulus! Kill him!
- Captain: Only Romulus can grant you peace.
- Captain: The Assassin! Kill him!
- Captain: Romulus will punish those who do not fight!
Ezio defeats the attackers and confronts the Captain once more.
- Ezio: Did you learn all those lies from your Borgia masters?
- Captain: I speak the truth, it is you who tell the people lies.
- Ezio: Give me the code sheet.
- Captain: All I will give you is death!
Outcome
Ezio retrieves a key, and a Scroll of Romulus.
