Trivia

  • The name Mohawk – meaning "man-eaters" – was given to them by their rival tribe, the Algonquians. It is not known if they actually were a cannibal culture or if the name referred to their alleged ferocity in battle.
  • The Mohawk people called themselves Kanienkehaka, which means "people of the flint."
  • The American Assassin Connor was raised by the Mohawks.
