The Jackdaw was a brig captained by the Assassin Edward Kenway, which he obtained with the help of his first mate Adéwalé, during his time as a privateer and pirate.
Before Kenway's captaincy, it was a ship in the Spanish Treasure Fleet.[1]
Schematics
The Jackdaw was 60 meters long, 48.5 meters high, had a width of 11.9 meters, and had 26 sails. Accompanying this, the Jackdaw initially had six cannons with additional slots for another fifty,[2] and could employ additional upgrades such as four swivel guns, explosive mines, round shot, heated shot, chain shot, and naval rams.[3] It was also equipped with a diving bell for when Edward explored the seafloor.[4]
Crew
- Edward Kenway
- Adéwalé
- Anne Bonny
- Numerous unnamed pirates
Trivia

- Darby McDevitt mentioned the Jackdaw's name was also a reference to the fable of the Eagle and the Jackdaw.[5]
- Jackdaw is a refrence to a welsh nursery rhyme Edward would have learnt from his mother from his early years growing up in wales, "Mi welais Jac y do".
