Ilario Lombardi was a social outcast in Renaissance Italy, and, during his life, he was violently attacked by Assassins and heavily scarred, with the event leaving his mind traumatized as a result. Due to his injuries, Ilario resorted to hiding his body away behind clothing, accompanied by a metal mask to shield his face from others.
His genetic memories were later used by the Templar-owned company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Pariah.
