The Idean Cave was a cave in the Valley of Olympia in Elis, Greece.
History[edit | edit source]
By the time of the Peloponnesian War, the Followers of Ares had claimed the cave for their own. At some point later, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the chief of the Followers, and claimed their valuables.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The name of the cave references the cave on Mount Ida on the island of Krete, where the Greek god Zeus was said to have spent his infancy.[2]
