Hunting was a skill that was available to the Assassin Connor Kenway, in which he could kill and collect the skins of various animals that he encountered across the Frontier, as well as tracking them down and trapping them.

It has been stated that for kills which are performed with a firearm, the end result of the animal's kill would be considered "sloppy", as the bullets fired would damage the pelt and reduce its economic value.

However, for animals that are killed with a bladed weapon, the pelts that would be retrieved would be of greater value, selling for more in shops that Connor comes across, presumably tailors.

As well as being sold, should Connor's skill in hunting impress certain individuals, he would be invited to join into a hunting club, one of the many factions in the American Revolution.
