Central Asian Hidden Ones

During the 8th century, a group of Hidden Ones operated in the western reaches of Tang China. Led by Éléna, the group was composed of people of various ethnicities, including Byzantines, Sogdians, Tocharians, Indians, and Arabs.

In September 751, the Hidden Ones rescued a Tang crossbowman named Li E in the aftermath of the Battle of Talas just before he could be killed by the victorious Abbasids.[1]
