someone might need to double-check that tavern name (again, not sure about the category)

Halifax was a British settlement located in modern day Canada. It was formed in 1749 and had a tavern, a general store and a harbourmaster, a church and a Gang's  HQ. The town was featured in Assassin's Creed: Rogue  when the Templar Shay Cormac raided the Gang HQ and put it under British control. The town was also a topic of major dispute between the Britsh and the French, especially during the Seven years war due to it's strategic location. The town is still here today, playing a major part in Canadian affairs.

Halifax is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada.

History

Halifax was established in 1749 by the British, violating a treaty and thus starting Father Le Loutre's War, which pitted the British and New England colonists against the French and the Mi’kmaq nation. The conflict would lead to several devastating attacks, including the Dartmouth massacre of 1751, and, once the British had asserted control, the expulsion of the Acadians.

Still a relatively small settlement in its early days, Halifax boasted a harbormaster's station, a general store and a tavern called the "Sorrel & Bay". The town was also home to an Assassin gang's headquarters, which was taken down by the Assassin-turned-Templar Shay Cormac sometime in the mid-18th century.

During the Seven Years' War, Halifax became a naval base, playing a crucial role in the Siege of Louisburg in 1758. It subsequently became the headquarters for the Royal Navy in North America and would be of vital importance during the American Revolution. The conflict with the Mi’kmaq nation finally came to an end in 1761, with a series of peace treaties that culminated in the "Burying of the Hatchet Ceremony".
