Guthorm the Wise was the uncle of Harald Fairhair, the first king of a unified Norway.

Behind the scenes

In a letter to Ktojve Guthorm mentions that he also goes by the byname "the Hunter". Harald Fairhair's paternal grandfather Gudrød, who would assumably be either Guthorm's father or father-in-law, also used that byname.
