Gaius Cassius Longinus (c. 85 BCE – 3 October 42 BCE) was a Roman Senator, a secret member of the Assassin Order, and the brother in-law of Marcus Junius Brutus.
Following Gaius Julius Caesar's promotion to dictator of the Roman Republic, Cassius, along with a number of other Assassin Senators calling themselves Liberatores,[1] began to plot Caesar's assassination. Tasking Brutus with devising the plan, twenty-three Liberatores killed Caesar inside the Roman Senate on 15 March 44 BCE.[2]
