Frodri was a dwarf in the region of Gullnámar, in the realm of Svartálfaheimr.

Biography

Not much was known about Frodri, but his personality was predominately simple-minded. During his travels, Frodri met with a Jotun witch, Hyrrokin, who was traveling the realm of Svartálfaheimr. Upon their brief meet, Hyrrokin gave Frodri a ring, which made Frodri happy until he experienced bad luck after her gift. After some time, south of the Old City, Frodri set up camp and cooked bacon, which attracted a bear to attack for the food. Under attack, Frodri was soon saved by the Æsir Havi, who was later asked to help him be rid of the "cursed ring." Accompanied by Havi, Frodri talked about his string of bad luck, while Havi noticed that the dwarf made bad and dumb choices. Reaching the edge of a caldera, Frodri threw the ring into the lava, but lost his balance as well. Immediately, Frodri died within the lava while the ring somehow survived.[1]

Behind the scenes

The character is a nod and loose interpretation of the character, Frodo from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy book series, The Lord of the Rings.
