Forlì is one of the cities in Assassin's Creed II. Little is known about Forlì other than that it is characterized by plazas and open areas. It is the capital of its district and as such it is a center of trade. The city is located in the region of Romagna. The city has a smaller importance than others in the main game but will be the location of the upcoming DLC: Battle of Forlì.
Trivia
- Caterina Sforza who is featured in the game was Countess of Forlì (from 1480 until 1500), and her legendary episode will be described in the upcoming DLC of Assassin's Creed II: in 1488, her husband and Lord of Forlì, Girolamo Riario was assassinated in a conspiracy led by the Orsis, a noble family of the city (Templars in the game canon). She and her children were made prisoners. Since the fortress of Ravaldino, a citadel of strategic importance to the defense of the city, refused to surrender, Caterina offered to go to convince the castellan, Tommaso Feo. The Orsinis believed the good intentions of Caterina because she left her children as hostages, but once inside she let loose a barrage of threats and promises of vengeance against her former captors and when they threatened to kill her children still in captivity she exposed her genitals from the fortress walls saying: "Ho con me lo stampo per farne degli altri!" (I have the instrument to bear more!). This last part is without historical veracity but it is said to be featured in the game (but in the main game, it is only mentioned by Shaun).
