Feathers and Trees was a virtual representation of one of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus.
Description
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Kanen'tó:kon explored the forest to find feathers for the clan mother.
Dialogue
- Kanen'tó:kon: Peace!
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: You're late.
- Kanen'tó:kon: Sorry. You're not still mad at me, are you?
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Come. We have work to do The Clan Mother has asked us to gather materials for tonight. We'll start with the feathers. We can scout the area for bird nests from up there.
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Kanen'tó:kon started climbing to a higher position.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: See? Not so bad. Now you.
- Kanen'tó:kon: There's nothing to hang on to.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Yes there is. Look for places where the bark knots.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Better?
- Kanen'tó:kon: It is beautiful.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: But for how long? Come spring two dozen men will have moved here. By fall there will be two dozen more. They will hunt in these forests. They will settle on this land. In less than a year there will be a hundred of them. In time they will swallow us whole.
- Kanen'tó:kon: They are still far away.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Yes. But they are CLOSER than they were. We need to do something. If we do not act, if we do not fight, it will happen again...
- Kanen'tó:kon: Enough of that. I thought you were teaching me how to climb.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Fine. There. An eagle's nest. The feathers will be finer than the others.
- Kanen'tó:kon: But we are not supposed to leave the valley...
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: No one needs to know, do they? Let's see if we can make it there without touching the ground.
- Kanen'tó:kon: This is a bad idea...
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Do as I do. Not yet.
- Kanen'tó:kon: What about now?
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: No. Just follow my lead! See? It's not so bad!
- Kanen'tó:kon: Don't leave me!
Kanen'tó:kon fell in the river.
- Kanen'tó:kon: Ratonhnhaké:ton! Thank you!
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: Now we climb.
- Kanen'tó:kon: This is too much.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: How do you hope to improve if you don't push yourself?
- Kanen'tó:kon: But what will happen if I fall and die?
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: There should be some other nests nearby. Search those.
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Kanen'tó:kon split up. Ratonhnhaké:ton climbed a cliff and fell down, landing safely in a bush.
- Ratonhnhaké:ton: What? I did that on purpose.
- Kanen'tó:kon: I couldn't reach all of the nests. I'll wait here while you collect them... Unless you think we have enough? I'll wait for you over there. Let me know when you're finished.
Ratonhnhaké:ton collected more feathers and then made his way back to Kanen'tó:kon.
Outcome
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Kanen'tó:kon collected the feathers for the Clan Mother, and Kanen'tó:kon learned how to climb.
Trivia
- To achieve full synchronization, there were three constraints that had to be completed: the ground and water couldn't be touched, all three feathers had to be collected, and the previous constraints had to be completed in one playthrough.
