Concept art of Dubgaill Landing

Dubgaill Landing was a Viking stronghold in 9th century Dublin, Ireland.

History

In the late 9th century, Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan investigated Dubgaill Landing, as her cousin, Bárid mac Ímair, King of Dublin, wanted Thorstein to be brought before him for his attempted assassination on both him and Eivor. Eivor asked Bárid's son, Sichfrith, of Thorstein's location but he could only give the name of a trusted warrior, Ama. Eivor met Ama and began a drinking match with her. Afterwards, Ama slipped out the location of Thorstein's base at Dubgaill Landing. Upon stealing the key on Ama, Eivor headed to the stronghold and discovered a secret underground lair. Within the lair, Eivor saw Thorstein and subdued him. Capturing Thorstein, Eivor carried him from Dubgaill Landing and went to deliver him to Bárid at King's Hall.[1]
