The ceramic warriors are in different poses: standing, kneeling, operating vehicles, and even watching their surroundings.

The ceramic warriors have very intricate facial expressions, as if they're trying to convey their emotions.

The Great Wall

It is estimated that over a million people, about ten times the number of workers for the pyramids in Egypt, worked on the Great Wall.

Different sections of the Great Wall differ in size depending on the terrain, and the materials were often collected locally.

Cuju

Legend has it that Meng Tian, a famous Qin general, was also a Cuju enthusiast, and used it to train his soldiers.

Cuju matches from the Qin and Han dynasties looked similar to modern soccer matches. Victory was even judged in a similar fashion.

Funeral Culture

Two threatening stone beasts stand at the entrance of the tomb, as if waiting to attack intruders.

Back then, people believed that death meant moving to another world, so tombs were filled with treasures for the deceased to take with them.

It is said that tombs were full of traps and dangers, and many intruders never returned.

Qin Zhidao Highway

The world's earliest highways were built during the Qin Dynasty. From the capital, Xianyang, one could quickly reach any major city.

Horses were the main tool of transportation during the Qin Dynasty. Good horses could travel five hundred kilometers a day, and were worth just as much as luxury sports cars today.

The construction of highways facilitated ethnic, cultural, military, and economic exchange, all of which contributed to the lasting unification of the country.
