Ahmad Shāh Durrānī (c. 1722 – 16 October 1772), also known as Ahmad Khān Abdālī, was an Afghan chief and the founder of the Durrani Empire.
In 1747, the Iranian Shah, Nāder Shāh, was killed by the Assassin Salah Bey. The Shah's Koh-i-Noor diamond, a Piece of Eden, ended up in the hands of Ahmad. Salah planned to pursue Ahmad in order to claim the Koh-i-Noor for the Brotherhood. However, the diamond remained in Ahmad's possession.[1]
