The Agile Guards are a lightly-armored, fast guard archetype. They run even faster than Ezio and can use Free Running. Agile Guards are designed to flee and alert nearby guards if Ezio is successful in killing a Brute or most of the enemies, rather than fight, or chase Ezio.

Agiles wield knives and short blades, such as the Sultan's Knife or Notched Cinquedea.

If you confront an agile, you can attack him until you see that he is becoming tired (you will know he is tired when he is lowering his arms and panting), then, he will be an easy prey for countering or for a combo. This is explained by the trainer in Monteriggioni.

When they do draw their weapon out, they will do just weak attacks and only attack when he gets an opportunity to strike. Since they are very fast, they will dodge most of Ezio's basic attacks. Also, Agiles are not very strong, which means they won't be able to counter Ezio's counter-kills. Their armor strength is identical to that of Standard Guards.

Strategy

Combat: Fighting an Agile requires patience. They can, and will, dodge your attacks. If you wait for them to attack, you can easily counter them for a one-hit-kill.

Escape: Agiles are very fast on foot, however, using free-running to traverse buildings will lose them. They possess the same free run acrobatics Ezio can do, without the ability to scale buildings. The best method of escape is jumping into water. If you aren't near water, and you can't happen to escape them, the best way to finally rid yourself of an Agile is to just attempt to fight them.

Ranking

Agiles are found in all cities, though more often the larger ones. They usually hang around Brutes and more heavily armored guards such as Seekers(rarely they would be with Elite or Leaders).

Special Agiles

Usually, a shinier and more abstract design in armor distinguishes a higher level of skill in an agile. In addition, the assassination targets Checco and Ludovico Orsi have some of the freerunning ability of Agiles. Certain allies, such as Rosa, have the mobility of an Agile.
