Cristoforo Moro (1390 – 10 November 1471) was the 67th Doge of Venice, reigning from 1462 until his death.
During his tenure as Doge, Moro presided over Venice's war with the Turks. When his son, Dante Moro, lost his position as Captain of the Venetian City Guard in 1468, he disowned Dante. He died in 1471, and is buried inside San Giobbe.[1]
Trivia
- Although Dante was supposedly disowned in 1468 for losing his position as Guard Captain, he would have been eight years old at the time. Also, when Dante was born, Cristoforo would have been 70 years old.
