The Common Sword was a sword obtainable during the Italian Renaissance, being the first sword that the Assassin Ezio Auditore received. Finding the sword in one in his father's trunks, the young Assassin took it with him at the Auditore execution, but it was disarmed from him and left behind when he had to flee. From there, he would be gifted a very similar blade by his uncle Mario upon his arrival in Monteriggioni.
In 1500, when the army of Cesare Borgia attacked Monteriggioni, an older Ezio used the Common Sword again in the town's defense, due to the loss of the Sword of Altair in the wreckage of the Villa Auditore. He would then continue to use this sword, in conjunction with the hidden gun, for an unspecified length of time after his arrival in Rome.
