The Chinon bureau was a Hidden One bureau situated in Chinon, France. It was little more than a small room secreted away in a dovecote atop the Bon Berger tavern.[1]
History
In 870, the bureau was headed by Mentor Mahaut and counted Aline, Matthias and Oisel among its Hidden Ones. Upon receiving information from the north and a request for help from Basim Ibn Ishaq, worried about the recent happenings in Antioch, Mahaut summoned the trio to the bureau to give them their next tasks. In the small room she asked Aline to go north and investigate the arrival of the Vikings, since she could speak their language, and sent the other two to meet with Basim in the Levant, while she herself would remain behind to take care of the bureau's affairs.[1]
