Chiang Kai-shek (31 October 1887 – 5 April 1975) was a Chinese political and military leader who served as the leader of the Republic of China between 1928 and 1975. Chiang was also an influential member of the Kuomintang and the Chinese Nationalist Party.
In 1927, as the relations between the British Templars and the Shanghai Rite became tense, the young Darius Gift was sent to China to deliver a package to Chiang in hopes of convincing him to join the Templar Order.
