The Brotherhood of the Cross was a Templar organization traveling through Germany promising protection from the plague. The Assassin Lukas Zurburg suspected that they were after the Ankh, a Piece of Eden said to be located somewhere in Central Europe.

In 1350, the Brothers of the Cross vanished mysteriously, after which Lukas was never seen again.
