Bron (died 870s) was an Anglo-Saxon criminal in England during the 9th century.
Biography
Bron was a criminal often searching for opportunities to steal. After learning about a man in Glowecestrescire who claimed to own the horn of the late Viking leader Ragnar Lothbrok, he came to the house and tried to break in. During his attempted break-in, the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan passed by and approached him. Pretending to be the home owner, he told Eivor he locked himself out, and asked for her help. After Eivor helped Bron get inside, the actual owner of the house turned up. Eivor explained the situation and Bron was subsequently killed by either Eivor or the home owner.[1]
