The Black Sea is a body of water between the Aegean Sea and the Caspian Sea.
History
The city of Themiskyra was located along the coastline of Black Sea in antiquity. In Greek mythology, the city was the dwelling place of the Amazons, most notably their queen, Hippolyta.[1]
The historian Herodotos was well-known to have traveled the Black Sea, among others.[2]
