Kottr was a person who lived in 9th-century Norwich, East Anglia. Having lived to old age, Kottr was the closest thing to an owner the cat Nali knew, and their death devastated Nali, who became feral as a result.[1]

The name of Kottr, a character in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, is based on the Old Norse word kǫttr, meaning 'cat'.
