Beodoricsworth was an Anglo-Saxon town in southern East Anglia, England.
History
In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan joined the berserkr Bjorn Bloodtooth and his white bear, Njal, on their quest for vengeance against the Mercian lord, who killed Alfhild, Bjorn's wife, at Beodoricsworth. Upon their attack, Eivor and her allies defeated and killed many of the soldiers. With the soldiers' death, the lord came to fight, but only to die at the hands of his enemies. With his vengeance quenched, Bjorn left the fight with an injured Njal and Eivor and achieved his goal of killing his enemy.[1] Through her travels, Eivor and her longship's crew conducted a raid on the town and collected raw materials from the chests' contents.[2]
