Battleground of Plataia

The Battleground of Plataia was a site within the Ruins of Plataia in western Boeotia, Greece where the decisive Battle of Plataia took place in 479 BCE between the allied Greek poleis and the Achaemenid Empire during the Greco-Persian Wars.

Decades later during the Peloponnesian War, the site was visited by the misthios Kassandra, who looted the valuables from the remains that had been left behind after the battle.[1]
