Santa Trinita, in central Florence.

Santa Trinita,Holy Trinity (constructed in 1258–1280), is a church in central Florence, located near the Palazzo Auditore and the Ponte Santa Trinita.

The church possessed a tall bell tower, and was fronted by a large piazza frequented by both Doctors and Courtesans. It also served as the chapel for the influential Auditore family, who were based nearby. In 1476, the church was climbed by both Federico and Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who were racing each other at the time.

Trivia

  • It is the mother church of the Vallumbrosan Order of monks, founded in 1092 by a Florentine nobleman.
