because in the wiki before assassins creed 3 ( unfortunately I have no proof of that right now) they said that desmond was kept in abstergo in a city that ressembled new york . how can you tell wether the buildings in the AC1 is italian or not .. all I see is white light covering hundreds of sillouets of buildings .. and yea in the second game I agree , but by that time they already made the decision to kill off lucy and desmond ! My point is , the plot they started in AC1 isn't exactly the same they continued with in AC2 and 3 .
