Desmond jumps at the words "desert compounds" and asks if his parents were okay, yet he lived in a forest, apparently; the world is fine instead of all messed up like the newswire implied; and Desmond says that he never gave his name, while Initiates which gives out tons of new information specifies that friends of Desmond in NY posted those posters. Indeed, these posters were posted 13 of September, well into the events of AC2, so no it's not intentional.
