the bit about the talk page

This is an ongoing discussion.

Is there a way to get the part of the template that directs to a talkpage to do so to a specific talkpage? Because as of now it seems to default to whichever page this template is on. So if you put this template on each page proposed to be merged theyll point to different talkpages for the discussion. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:07, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

The template code reads "held on the former article's [Talk:{PAGENAME}|talk page]", so I'd image we'd have to modify the statement to allow for both talk pages on immediate page and talk pages elsewhere. – Darman (talk) 16:05, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
