"The Brotherhood has enough fighters. What it lacks in order to face up to the Templars are scientists!"
―Yuri to Hajime, 2000.[src]

Yuri (died 6 December 2000) was a member of the Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. She was the mother of Tomo Sakagawa and oversaw the Assassins cell and training camp in Kyushu alongside Hajime Shimada.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Yuri: "Save Tomo..."
Hajime: "But I can't abandon the others..."
Yuri: "I beg you... The Brotherhood will have need of my son... Do it... for me."
—Yuri's final words to Hajime, 2000.[src]

Formerly a member of the Assassins based in Osaka, Yuri disagreed with the Osaka's branch focus on training fighters, believing the need for there to more scientists in order to combat against the Templars' technological capabilities. She moved east to Kyushu island, where she established her own Assassin community and training camp alongside Hajime Shimada. She would also go on to have a son named Tomo, whom she trained to be an Assassin like her. At one point, the two met and befriended the American Assassin Daniel Cross during his visit to their camp.[1]

Yuri and Hajime discussing the turncoat Daniel Cross

On 6 December 2000, Yuri was informed by Hajime of Daniel's betrayal of the Brotherhood. Daniel had given the Templars the location of every camp he visited, including the Kyushu camp. Sensing an impending attack led by Daniel's war dog Maxime Gorm, Hajime implored Yuri to evacuate the camp and regroup with the Assassins in Osaka. Yuri refused to return to the Osaka branch, citing their disagreements in logistics. Just as Yuri slapped Hajime for criticizing her methods and mention, she was struck with several bullets by Team Epsilon led by Maxime Gorm. With the Templars begining their purge of the camp's Assassins, Yuri implored Hajime to take her son Tomo to safety, before she ultimately succumbed to her wounds.[1]
