I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name?
This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given.

The Xerxes actor was an Elean actor who was meant to play the part of the Persian King Xerxes I of Persia in Thespis' play in the 5th century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Renowned for his work as a villain on the stage, the man refused to answer any other name beyond his role of the hour. However, while wandering in search of inspiration to play Xerxes, he was captured by the Followers of Ares inhabiting the Dyspontion Ruins. They believed him to be the villains he'd played before, and attempted to get him to join them and perform rites with them.[1]

Despite the terror of the situation, he refused. The Followers and their local leader, a witch, tied him up and kept him as their prisoner, believing he would change his mind.[1]

When the Spartan misthios Kassandra found and freed him, he had learned that the Followers' witch intended to poison the city and the audience, forcing Kassandra to make a choice whether save the city for now, or kill the witch before she fled.[1]

In the end, Thespis' play had its Xerxes.[2]
