Artaxerxes II Mnemon (Old Persian: 𐎠𐎼𐎫𐎧𐏁𐏂; 453 or 445 BCE – 358 BCE) was King of Persia from 404 BCE until his death in 358 BCE.
During Artaxerxes' reign, a plague decimated a large portion of his army. As such, he consulted the Greek physician Hippokrates in hopes of a cure. However, Hippokrates refused to help the Persians, who were an enemy of Greece during the Greco-Persian Wars.[1]
