This article is about the temple in Arsinoe Nome. You may be looking for the temple in Hermopolis.

The Temple of Thoth was a large temple complex dedicated for the worship of the Egyptian god Thoth situated in Arsinoe Nome of Sinai.

During the 1st century BCE, the temple's priests used Herodotus' notes about Egypt for research. However, they were later deemed to be filled with misinformation and odd anecdotes, resulting in some of his research being dismissed.[1] Around 38 BCE, the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa visited the temple while in pursuit of the Shard of a Star legend. Visiting a large tree situated in the courtyard, Bayek discovered an entrance containing a pyramid behind the roots. He was eventually able to unlock the entrance and retrieve a pair of short blades.[2] Around the same time, Bayek also recovered a Papyrus Puzzle in the main hall.[3]
