The Sanctuary of Pan

The Sanctuary of Pan was a shrine near the Thasos Temple in Thasos City on the island of the same name in Greece.

Dedicated to Pan, the Greek god of wilderness and agriculture, the sanctuary is a modest place of worship, befitting an everyday god.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place.[2]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Despite the description mentioning that the modest sanctuary was a cave cut into the mountain, in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey the shrine is merely an altar at the end of some rough-hewn stairs.
