―Ruggiero Ferraro to his British escorts, 1721.[src]

Ruggiero Ferraro (died May 1721) was an Italian diplomat from the city of Florence. At some point, he was marked for death by the West Indies Brotherhood of Assassins.[1]

In 1721, he visited Kingston to attend a banquet organized by the former governor Woodes Rogers before his return to England, though Ferraro was contemptuous of the city and its British lords. However, he was unaware that he was being stalked by the Assassin Edward Kenway, who assassinated the diplomat from a haystack as he stopped to drink some wine. Kenway then assumed his identity in order to infiltrate the party in an attempt to assassinate Rogers.[1]
