The Aquaeductus Kyrenaike was an aqueduct in the Green Mountains of Cyrenaica, constructed during the 1st century BCE under the Roman engineer Vitruvius. It was connected to the Kyrenaika Roman Citadel.
History[edit | edit source]
Around 47 BCE, bandits from a nearby hideout had stolen tools from the workers, hindering the aqueduct's construction. After being questioned by Roman soldiers, Vitruvius requested the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to investigate. After receiving clues from one of the workers Dedi, Bayek headed up to the hideout and eliminated the bandits, recovering the tools needed to carry on the construction.[1]
