Polygnotos of Thasos (fl. 5th century BCE) was one of ancient Greece's most famous painters.

The clubhouse Lesche of the Knidians was renowed for displaying two paintings by Polygnotos. According to geographer Pausanias, they depicted the Capture of Troy and a necromantic ritual.[1]
